Bricks and Murals
WEEF supported the Westerly High School art students who helped design the Italian Culture mural for the Bricks & Murals event in
September 2017.  The students received a once in a lifetime opportunity to work side by side with professional artists around the
world and got to see the value of the arts in our community.  To view pictures of the event, CLICK HERE.

Colonial Pen Pals
This project is designed to connect students with their community by collaborating with middle school educators to re-tool the
local history component of the middle school curriculum. Students will study copies of actual letters between Dr. Babcock & Dr.
Franklin dating from 1753 and then have opportunities to become digital penpals with students in other schools by both writing
digital letters and exchanging emails. Using technology, students can create their own short films that give a tour of Westerly
today and show how it has changed since Dr. Babcock and Dr. Franklin’s time.

Food for Thought
This project will set up a canteen type store that is staffed, stocked and inventoried by students. Students will be responsible for
finding foods needed to sustain the canteen. Students will research prices of foods, nutritional values of the foods and the cost
